Our Vision & Leadership Team at Olton Baptist Church ‘Without a vision the people perish’ and so every church needs someone who is there to prayerfully look ahead, plan for the longer term and ‘dream the bigger dream’. As OBC had grown in size and complexity, it was felt essential that some members were set aside from the day to day running of the church to serve the church in this way.
The Vision and Leadership Team was formed in Autumn 2006, to provide overall leadership and vision for the church alongside the Pastor. They are ordinary church members with leadership gifts, who were recognised by the church members after a special month of prayer.

Howard Jones, Pastor Howard is married to Iona and they have two daughters Charis and Lottie. Before coming to Olton they lived in Chipping Campden in the Cotswolds, where Howard was Pastor of the Baptist Church there. Howard committed his life to Christ at the age of 14, and his initial calling to be a Pastor also came during his teenage years. He eventually went for it in his late 20s and trained for the ministry at Regents Park College, Oxford. He is a keen musician, playing guitar, bass and cello. He loves to cook, read and go to the movies.

Alistair Ross Alistair brings to the leadership team his experience as: a Baptist Minister; a pastoral theologian (helping people work out ideas about God in everyday life); an academic analyst specialising in the history of Freud; and as a lecturer in counselling in a university setting. His hobbies include hill-walking, photography, writing books and finishing a PhD. Alistair is also a ‘retired biker’ that still dreams about a red Ducati – ‘What would Freud say about that …?’

Dave Tubby Dave is married to Rachel, and has been a part of Olton Baptist Church since he moved to the area in 2002, from Newcastle. He became a Christian at the age of 11. Dave is a keen sports fan, and particularly enjoys football. He loves going out with friends, playing pool and going to the cinema. |

Robert Myles, Admin, Communications & Sunday Logistics Robert is married to Janice and they have three children, Jacob, Victoria & Sophie. Robert has lived in Birmingham all his life and attended Yardley Wood Baptist for 29 years before coming to Olton Baptist in 1998. He trained as a computer programmer after leaving school, then moved over to accountancy, and now runs an industrial cleaning company. Robert still enjoys changing cars as he gets bored keeping the same one for too long. |

Steve Hands, Financial Management Steve is married to Tina and have 3 boys Simon Peter and Joe. Steve and Tina were founder members of Olton following the planting of a new Church from Shirley Baptist Church in 1989. Steve is an accountant by profession running his own business. Steve came to Christ through involvement in youth work particularly the Boys Brigade and sees the youth work at Olton as one of Gods greatest gifts to us as a Church family. |

Andy Morris, Child Protection Andy has been at the Church since October 2004. He is married to Mhairi, who he met at his old Church and has a family of 2 cars! Andy is passionate about good food, cool cars and rollercoasters, not to mention supporting the Childen and Young Peoples work of the Church. He works for a young peoples charity as a Senior Manager supporting the development of Youth Work across Warwickshire, Coventry and Solihull. |
